Warning to developers with Yosemite

This game is just amazing since I have played all the previous title and didnt get a chance to try this one since I switched from a Windows to a Mac 2 years ago. I was surprise actally to see it coming to the App Store and I didnt wait a minute to downlload it. All Hitman Fans wont be disappointed! ( ! ) Just a quick warning for the developers, like me, who have OS X 10.10 Yosemite on the machine as beta tester (since June 2nd) - The game works perfectly but if you switch to the Sniper Challenge, it will ask you to relaunch the game to take the new settings into concideration but wont restart anymore. You will have to delete the game from your Launchpad and re-download it again. Yosemite is really buggy at some point so, I am waiting for Apple to provide a few fix and hopefully, the one that will make the Sniper Challenge starts normally)

Amazing

I have an iMac and I use my dads mac book pro and it works totally fine, great game I recommend for people who like to be an assasin

Awesome

wow! this game is awesome the graphics, gameply and above all the storyline is just amazing. I recommand this game to all just try it once and you’ll feel that you’ve bought something different this time.

worth the money you pay.

I love the game itself, but the thing I like the most is that I can play with ps3 controller without installing other applications! (also works perfectly on my macbook pro 13")

its way too laggy

this game is way too laggy no matter what resolutioon i choose or how many times i restart the game, it still lags. Im hoping this problem is fixed soon.

WARNING: Does not work if you are using OS X Mavericks Version 10.9.4

I’m a huge fan of the Hitman series and was excited this title was made available to Mac users. I purchased and downloaded Hitman: Absolution a day ago and am warning any potential buyers of a problem that I encountered. In order to play the game, I upgraded my Operating System (OS) to Apples new OS X Mavericks (Version 10.9.4). The OS functions well enough, but after I downloaded Hitman, I received an error message stating that my computers hardware does not meet the minimum requirements (listed on this download page, it states the compatibility requirements are "OS X 10.9.2 or later”). The compatability requirements is incorrect: OS X 10.9.4 does not allow you to play this game. Steer clear of this download should you be using this OS. I hope an update comes out soon that addresses this issue and that Apple would change the listed compatibility requirements on the download page to reflect that the game only functions up to OS X 10.9.2. This game looks fantastic and this review is not in any way reflective of its quality. The one star rating is based solely on the download/OS issue.

Awesome Game - Runs great on Mid-2012 MBP Non-Retina with 8GB RAM

It took forever to download, but the wait was worth it! This game runs very well on my 2012 MBP (non-retina) with 8GB RAM. I also have an SSD installed, so that may make a difference. Definitely fun and challenging.

Excellent game

I bought this game because it was part of a sale recently and I needed something to pass the time. I’m on a 15” MBP Retina 2.7ghz i7, 16gb ram. I can run the game smoothly with only a minor slowdown here and there with the graphics set to normal. I can go all the way up to ultra but in the benchmark that gets me around 8fps. Even with the graphics setting lowered, the graphics are still phenomenal. I was pretty surprised by them and was ‘wowed’ at a couple of points throughout the game. For all the reviews stating that its too laggy & choppy to even play, I wonder how old or underpowered their systems are. If you’ve got a well-spec’d mac, you shouldn’t have any issue. I would imagine trying to run this on an integrated chip might introduce some problems. As far as the gameplay, its really good. I played through on the normal difficulty; it remained challenging, there were a couple points where I got stuck or just flat couldn’t complete the mission the way I wanted to, but I was always able to find an alternate route/method. I haven’t started a replay yet, but I’m definitely going to. It seems like the replay value in this is incredibly high…there are so many ways to go through each mission, you can ball out and gun down every person in every mission or you can go through the entire game only killing targets. I haven’t made an account yet to access the contracts mode but that also seems like it will add value. There are plenty of points where the game breaks immersion due to some slightly ‘stupid’ AI. For instance, in one mission you witness a court case and have the chance to take the defendant’s costume as a disguise…the dude is scrawny, loud, crazy and has long hair. You step into the courtroom for him bald, silent and built like a statue and nobody even bats an eye. Guards on patrol don’t notice when all the other guards they’ve been crossing paths with all day are slowly disappearing. If you knock somebody out and then take their disguise right before a guard shows up, the guard will see a body on the ground missing all of its clothes, you standing there wearing those close with your suit laying on the ground and they don’t even try to put two and two together. etc etc etc… None of it really ‘breaks’ the game, but there were definitely a few points that I had to laugh to myself about how ridiculous it seeemed. Also worth noting, I paired my PS4 controller up and it worked without a hitch, no configuration required. There are some weird quirks with it though. For instance, if you’re taking cover and tap X to switch to a new cover, it will also draw whatever weapon you have selected or drop whatever item you’re carrying if its already out. Likewise, if you’re taking cover and you use the d-pad & then X to switch from a weapon to the extra object you’re carrying, it will actually drop the object rather than just pulling it out. That got to be pretty annoying in a lot of cases, in some cases I had to replay difficult missions because of it. The right trigger is also VERY sensitive when trying to do the slow squeeze for sniper rifles. All in all, this is a class A game and definitely worth the purchase. The minor nitpicks are definitely outweighed by the fun of the game.

Hitman: Absolutely never again

My review for this game- as well as for a couple others has been deleted. It did not say anything that would be deemed inappropriate. This seems like a very shady practice as my comment was more of a negative. My business will now no longer be with the mac app store.

Amazing game, impressive on mac.

This has to be my favorite mac game and deffinetly one of my favorite games. It’s well worth $30. I have a macbook pro retina, 4 GB of ram and i5 core. Not too great but the game still ran smoothly on low to medium graphics. I didn’t have any problems with crashing or glitching and the game was AMAZING. Must buy this if you like any kind of stealth games.

My mac and my experience with it.

The game itself is 5 stars all day, this review is mostly for how it performs on Mac. So I have a mid-2014 Macbook Pro Retina 15”. GT 750m with 2GB Memory. 16GB RAM. I am running Yosemite. I use the PS4 controller (not via bluetooth, although I think you can, I was bored trying to figure it out and just plugged it in with the USB cable to the Mac, works great). I played Hitman on PS3 and currently with my Mac I would say my graphics are better than what I got on PS3. The game set the graphics to a custom level based off my Mac, and it was something like, High texture High Texture HIgh shadows Normal something or another. Sorry, I dont rememeber but it was decent. I was getting around 23fps at this setup so I dropped some things like texture to Normal. Restarted the game and it stays around 30fps. So far the game is great. Barely studders. My Macs fan comes on every now and then but no biggie. I honestly take a break every 2 hours or so just to give my baby a break from the heat. I would buy this, its an awesome game and it works nicely.

Not working in Yosemite

I’d file a support request but Feral’s system wants too much information. We need an update!

The best so far

Well all I have to really state is this, if Feral Interactive makes it then you can bet it’s going to be good. I thoroughly enjoyed playing this on my IMac. All my graphics, and sound were set to high and I didn’t run into any problems. This was about the best version of Hitman that has come out so far. The other versions that I played I loved also but the graphics on My IMac made it even better. I really recommend this game, but if you have an older Mac you may need to upgrade. I played this on my 27 inch screen with 3.4 Ghz intel Core i7 Processor with 16 GB and 1600 Mhz DDR3. I also have the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 680MX with 2048 MB. The game ran beautifully. I always worry a little when a new game gets released for Mac usually there are a lot of bug issues, but Feral Int. generally does a great job of converting their games when they release a Mac version. I always try to buy from Feral, their games are always excellent and high, high quality. I don’t trust too many game companies out there except the big name ones. Feraxis , X2, Id are just a few that make great Mac versions of their games. My only gripe is the waiting time for their games to be released on Mac. So If I’m not familiar with the game studio that created the game I wont buy it. Usually games that come from some game studio that you rarely here of or havent heard of before are going to be a big disappointment and full of bugs. So I’d recommend you do the same. Just be patient cuz it may take some time. Like someone said though “All good things come to those who wait.” Enjoy this game it’s awsome!!

Great game, elite edition has slight problems

This game is a fantastic game if you like stealth, if you don’t it might be a little more difficult but you can still play most levels by going in guns blazing. However, i ran into some issues with the elite edition sniper challenge version. After I beat the campaign, i went back to try to play the sniper challenge and the game crashed. I thought that was odd, so i tried to reopen the game and try the normal version again. However, instead of opening that little pre-game window like it usually did, it went straight to the sniper challenge version and again crashed immediately. Now i am not only unable to play the sniper challenge but i cant even play the normal game. If anyone else has encountered this problem or has any other ideas, feel free to let me know as it would be much appreciated. Other than that, amazing game.

Game won’t open

The game wont open all the way, I have a brand new macbook pro and I’m disappointed and would like a refund if this game wont load !

Its supposed to be a great game but i cant even play it….

I cant even play, it crashes and now it wont even open and error just pops up overtime, i click ignore and i click continue anyways, nothing happens…. this needs to get resolved soon or just give me the 29$ i spent back, on this game..

….

Ive already finished the game but I still want to replay it. After the update that fixed the bug on the Sniper Challenge, I was able to play again. But about a week after that, another problem occurred. I open the game and click to continue my game and the loading screen pops up but even after an hour of letting it load, it still does not start up and it does not quit when i try to quit it. I had to shut down my computer manually. I tried to do it again and i got the same outcome. I decided to uninstall it and then take the time to reinstall but after i threw the app into the trash, it said i needed to pay for it again!!! Fix this please!
